Chefs in Exile Foundation
The Chefs in Exile Foundation will be formed as a non-profit organization which will receive a portion of all sales of Chefs in Exile.
The CiE Foundation board will be made up of the two authors and three CiE participating Chefs to be nominated and voted on by all of the participating Chefs.
Together the board will attempt to identify the greatest needs in the New Orleans culinary world post Katrina and attempt to address them. This may entail grants to struggling/still closed restaurants, staffing issues, housing, cooking scholarships, etc.
The Chefs in Exile Foundation will also actively seek out corporate donations to further address the many needs of this community.
Also, in order to help support our participating Chefs, their restaurants and staffs, the CiE Foundation will hold at least one dinner at each of the participating Chef's restaurants in order to fill their seats with diners.
